Follow SOPs during Nursing Care to Patients

Raipur
An induction and orientation program (March 11–15, 2024) for more than 200 newly joined senior nursing officers and nursing officers is being organized by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Expert trainers from different departments in AIIMS Raipur asked newly joined NOs to follow the laid-down Standard Operating Procedures while dealing with patients.

Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director, said that nursing services are the backbone of any health institution. Patients spent more time with NOs than doctors during hospitalization. ‘Nursing services have expectations and opportunities to present health institutions positively before patients. We must try to give our best during patient care, he added.

Under the aegis of the Department of Nursing and Hospital Administration, newly joined NOs are getting training on hospital administration, reporting, communication skills, maintaining records, e-office, administrative knowledge, store working, and ward procedures during the program. The orientation program was also graced by Prof. Renu Rajguru, Medical Superintendent. Program convener Deputy Nursing Superintendent Priyanka Taksande informed that more than 200 SNOs and NOs will be given different procedure demonstrations before final posting.
