Bollywood star Salman Khan finds himself in a challenging situation as his feud with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi intensifies, linked to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Amid rising tensions and security threats, singer Anup Jalota has urged Salman to apologize to the Bishnoi community.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is once again facing scrutiny due to his ongoing feud with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, stemming from the blackbuck poaching incident. Amidst this tension, singer Anup Jalota has spoken out, urging Salman to extend an apology to the Bishnoi community.
Salman is currently navigating a challenging period, with numerous threats against his life. Recently, a shooting incident occurred outside his Bandra residence, prompting an increase in his security. This incident is being linked to the ongoing feud with Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates, who have reportedly demanded that Salman visit a Bishnoi community temple to apologize for the alleged blackbuck killing. In an interview with ABP News, Anup Jalota commented, “I just want to say that it is not the time to get into who killed and who didn’t…. One should realise that Salman’s close friend Baba Siddique was allegedly killed because of the same. Now, the focus should be on solving the conflict.”
He further appealed to Salman, saying, “I have a small request for Salman to go to the temple and apologise to ensure his safety and protect his family and close friends. I am sure they will accept his apology. Salman should go and then lead a safe life… It is not the time to complicate the matter. Whether he killed or not, Salman should apologise. No one will get anything by getting stuck into the feud.”
The conflict between Salman and Lawrence Bishnoi has its roots in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. During a court appearance in Jodhpur in 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi, now a notorious gangster, issued a death threat to Salman. Since then, the actor has been the target of multiple threats to his life.
The blackbuck poaching incident occurred in 1998 during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan, when Lawrence Bishnoi, also known as Balkaran Barar, was just a child. The incident deeply angered the Bishnoi community, which holds the blackbuck sacred. Salman was the main accused in the case and was convicted in 2018.
In April this year, gunshots were fired outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence by two shooters, allegedly connected to the Bishnoi gang. They were subsequently arrested, and the actor’s security was further tightened. This increased vigilance comes in the aftermath of the murder of Baba Siddique, a close friend of Salman, by three assailants in Mumbai. Despite these challenges, Salman continues to focus on his work.
